Horror job search stories and illegal interview questions, Part III -

Horror job search stories and illegal interview questions, Part III - In honor of Halloween week, I thought it would be fun to commiserate and share some job search horror stories! The goal is to share tales from job seekers (so you know youre not alone) AND from hiring managers, so job seekers can learn what things might NOT work and how to manage when things are going down the tubes! Natalie shared this story, also detailed on her blog: After waiting for awhile in a brightly orange-painted room, the interviewer calls my name and sits me down at a desk. Normal thus far until he comments on my choice of wardrobe a green dress. Literally he said Natalie in the green dress in the orange room! Then he looks at my resume So youre from Utah, isnt that where all of those Mormons live? Are you Mormon? I answer in the affirmative, and a little bell starts ringing isnt he not supposed to ask that? He starts asking me the interview questions and randomly pauses to ask me why I switched from crossing my legs to crossing my ankles and asked (maybe leered) are you comfortable here with me? Got a little nervous that I may have gotten myself into a bad situation at that point. I got the question that every interviewer has askedWhat brought you to San Diego? My husband and I just moved here. Then he starts asking Oh youre married, how long have you been married? After my reply of one month, he literally said, Well youre Mormon youre going to have children soon. Now I know thats not right for an interviewer to ask an interviewee about children and upcoming life events that would affect employment. But we keep going. I have to admit it was a little weird when he asked me if my husband had more than one wifeI tried to politely educate him but seriously no SERIOUSLY?! The interview was awkward and concluded. He then walked me outside, saying he wanted to see what car I drove. Okaaaayythen he asked what was on my ipod. Maybe he didnt like that I said Fergie mixed with country because he called a few hours later to say I didnt get the job. Needless to say, despite wanting income, I didnt want to work with him anyway. Ahthe true horror story, complete with the illegal and generally inappropriate/irrelevant interview questions. Clearly, the main (and key) outcome here is that Natalie would not have wanted to work for this person, regardless. That is important. Its key for job seekers to maintain control of their own destinies by refusing to work where they know they are likely to experience inappropriate behavior. Dont ignore interview warning signs. Its up to you to NOT jump from the frying pan (a bad job or no job) into the fire a horrible job! So, how could Natalie have managed these questions? Did she have to answer? Best Resume and Cover Letter Writing Services Near Me

Best Resume and Cover Letter Writing Services Near MeAre you looking for the best resume and cover letter writing services near me? You're not alone, quite a few of us are. Most employers see resume and cover letter writing as a cliche, but if you put in the work, I promise you'll be glad you did. Here's a guide to finding the best possible service near you.A lot of service providers will list their addresses online, but some are more selective. For example, some do offer more extensive services than others. I'm sure that the ones that do specialize in resumes and cover letters should have more clientele, but my guess is that they get their business from a variety of sources. By their very nature, they get as many customers as they can, so they end up including more services than they can handle. That's fine. Also, you can save a lot of time, money, and frustration by researching your potential service provider online, just like you would with any other service or product. A great pla ce to start is on the internet, and I highly recommend using an internet search engine to search on the web for any company or agency that you might find through your own research. The best sites will often include reviews about them from others who've used their services before.Another option is to look at your local business directories. You should be able to find information on the company online or in local newspapers. Sometimes, a local business directory will include more information than the one you use on the internet. Either way, make sure you find out what they can do for you before you spend any money. When you find your ideal company or agency, meet with them, see if they can provide you with any information that you may need before you submit your resume and cover letter. They should be able to get you information that will help you formulate an effective cover letter and resume. If you don't receive any information, they should be able to tell you what information they have that can help you make a better impression. You also want to make sure that the agency can help you complete your cover letter, since they will likely have to provide it to the company in addition to their resume. This is why hiring a professional is important. After you have a good agency or company near you, make sure you ask all the right questions. You should ask them how long it takes to get your resume and cover letter completed. You should also inquire about fees, since some agencies may not be willing to do anything that you may not approve of. Be sure you can afford the fee before you hire any of them.So now you know the best way to find the best resume and cover letter writing services near me. You can go online, but remember that most work faster on the internet, and some may not offer you what you're looking for.

Kylie Jenners Rise and Shine Moment Goes from Meme to $65 Hoodie in Record Time

Kylie Jenner’s ‘Rise and Shine’ Moment Goes from Meme to $65 Hoodie in Record Time Kylie Jenner, never one to turn down a good branding opportunity, has spun a viral social media gaffe into official merchandise. It started with a YouTube video: Jenner gave a tour of her Kylie Cosmetics headquarters in California, and uploaded it to her official channel. Near the end, Jenner walks into her daughter Stormi’s playroom, waking up the toddler with a sing-songy, three-word greeting that set Twitter on fire. 4:12 am and this is sending me pic.twitter.com/cGSaDazzA4 â€" c (@christinajuuI) October 13, 2019 Jenner’s very earnest, very “mom” moment went viral on Twitter, and over the last few days, has been passed around TikTok, turned into dozens of remixes, even “covered” by a handful of pop stars. Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande made their own “rise and shine” videos; Lizzo gave it the flute treatment at a concert appearance in Pasadena, Calif. Bet y’all didn’t know @lizzo did covers. #RiseAndShine pic.twitter.com/wDD9BOYrzq â€" There’s No One Like Fisackerly (@fisackerly) October 19, 2019 Now, if the spirit moves you, you can buy an official “Riiise and Shiiinnee” hoodie from Jenner’s online store, The Kylie Shop. It comes in two colors, black and white, and costs $65 (plus shipping). No matter how you feel about Jenner, you’ve gotta admire her chutzpah. The 22-year-old reality star-turned beauty mogul got in on the joke early â€" sharing an Instagram photo of her face photoshopped onto the “baby sun” from Teletubbies late last week, followed by a video of Stormi dancing to one of the remixes. Branding the moment is another clever bit of PR. Jenner has one of the largest celebrity social media presences around â€" she’s got 149 million followers on Instagram alone, and her online shop has another 1.4 million â€" so she’s sure to make a buck or two. No matter that the hoodies won’t ship for another four to five weeks, long after everybody’s forgotten about the moment that inspired them.
